Applicants should possess recent criminal or family law experience at either the trial or appellate level, demonstrate strong legal research and writing skills, and have the ability to identify and effectively present appellate issues.

Appellate Panel Qualifications
Experience Required
Applicants to the Appellate Panel must meet all of the following requirements:
Experience in at least ten criminal or family cases during the past three years;
Two writing samples, such as appellate briefs, memoranda of law, law review articles, or similar legal publications; and
References from:
Three judges;
Three trial or appellate adversaries; and
Three co-counsel or attorneys familiar with the applicant’s work.
